Afridi has no issues with being passed over for T20 captain – Cricket News Update
Senior Pakistan all-rounder, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Afridi-c2482, has no qualms with being passed over for the limited-overs captaincy, insisting that he will be happy to play under any captain.
“No doubt leading a national side is a big honour,” Afridi told Pakistani newspaper,
The Express Tribune. “But I have no complaints and am ready to play for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shoaib-Malik-c90088 or Hafeez. These players have played under me and I have no issues playing under them.”
The 32-year-old was appointed T20 captain after http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Younis-Khan-c98325 resigned from the post in 2009 – the appointment was initially temporary, for a single match, but became permanent later on.
In March 2010, he was also appointed ODI captain after http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 and Sri Lanka, and finishing as the tournament’s top-scorer, with 384 runs from 3
matches.
He also had a brief stint as Test captain, from which he resigned himself in May 2010, claiming that he lacked the proper temperament for the extended-overs format of the game.
However, rifts in Afridi’s relationship with the PCB began to emerge in October 2010, when the all-rounder gave an interview in which he stated that national squad had been selected without his input. The board issued him a warning, but Afridi was retained
well into the next year, going on to captain the team in the 2011 World Cup, during which Pakistan reached the semi-finals before being eliminated after a defeat against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750.
Afterwards, a falling out with Coach http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972 being appointed the captain.

“My aim is to play for my country which is a huge honour”, said Afridi, whose career spans 342 ODIs and 48 T20s. “I wish Hafeez the best of luck with his role. I have supported him in crisis before and he will have all my support as the captain again.”
