“Afridi should refrain from criticising players in public” – Moin Khan
Former Pakistan skipper Moin Khan has advised the incumbent captain Shahid http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Khan-c71319 Afridi to stop criticising his men in public as it can affect team spirit.
The 30-year-old belligerent cricketer was quite aggressive in his post match comments in Auckland and Hamilton. Afridi bashed his batters after the five-wicket loss in the opening T20 match at http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Auckland-c766 last Sunday and then rapped his bowlers
after New Zealand sealed the series with a 39-run victory at Seddon Park on Tuesday.
Moin, who has been keeping the stumps for Pakistan during his 14-year-long cricketing career, acknowledged that Pakistan attack was out-of-sorts against the Black Caps batsmen adding quickly that instead of criticising the bowlers at the
post match ceremony, the Pakistan captain should have talked to them in the dressing room.
"A captain should refrain from criticising his players in public because it can affect team spirit. Afridi is a very experienced player and should be aware of it," said Moin Khan.
Pakistan bowlers leaked 185 runs at Seddon Park. Though they did claim seven wickets as well but the massive target of 186 runs was enough to put the struggling batting line of Pakistan under pressure. The T20 specialist bowler of Pakistan
Umar Gul was the most expensive from Pakistan side who returned wicket less conceding 47 runs in three overs including an over to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Peter-McGlashan-c2178, costing him 25 runs as the batsman plundered three fours and two sixes. Gul’s fellow pacer Shoaib Akhtar was
equally expensive leaking 42 runs at an economy of 10.50 per over.
In the presentation ceremony Afridi blamed his bowlers. "We were let down today by our bowlers," he said. "I was expecting a much better performance from them but they were unable to bowl well in the match," Afridi added.
Meanwhile, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 captain, has blamed Afridi for team’s poor performance in the T20 series against New Zealand. Zaheer urged Afridi to lead the side from the front playing responsible cricket rather than playing
in “grotesque” way.
“A player should have the temperament to stay on the crease and not go for every ball like an angry bull,” said Zaheer in his scathing analysis. Afridi was raised to the opening player for the T20 series against Kiwis but the Asian Bradman
said that the openers must have the patience to stay at the crease for at least ten overs.
Pakistan will face http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 in the inconsequential final T20 match in Christchurch on Thursday.
