Afridi v PCB -  Former Captain to face Pakistan Cricket Board Committee
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sahibzada-Mohammad-Shahid-Khan-Afridi-c87933, will stand before a disciplinary committee of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), after he agreed to revoke his petition against the board in the Sindh High Court.
Afridi met http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ijaz-Butt-c64128, in the presence of the Interior Minister of Pakistan, Rehman Malik, to discuss all matters regarding the dispute with the cricket board.
According to reports, Malik had convinced Afridi to settle his differences with Butt outside the court instead of taking a lengthy legal procedure, which might have caused the all-rounder to miss the ongoing season of Friends Life T20 tournament in England,
where he is supposed to play for the county side, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hampshire-c789.
Earlier, after Afridi had withdrawn his petition there were rumours that the flamboyant all-rounder will be handed his NOC (No-Objection Certificate) immediately. Now it has been disclosed that Afridi will have to appear before the disciplinary committee
to face charges regarding the violation of the code of conduct, which bars the players from giving any interviews to the media against the team players and officials of the board.
The code of conduct also makes it compulsory for the Pakistan cricketers to first take permission from the PCB before talking to any media outlet.
Revealing information regarding the future of the all-rounder, an official in the PCB said, “The case still stands where it was before Afridi filed the petition. Afridi will have to appear before the disciplinary committee to get clearance.”
Nonetheless, inside sources have revealed that the 31-year old will be slapped a fee fine and will be asked to submit an apology to the PCB, after which the NOC will immediately be provided to him.
Afridi was accused of breaking the code of conduct as he blasted PCB officials in public, where he accused Ijaz Butt of destroying cricket in Pakistan and revealed that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Ilyas-Mahmood-c76948, who is the father-in-law of the discarded left-handed batsman, Imran
Farhat, had convinced Butt to remove him from the post of captaincy of the one-day team.
Afridi had also criticised team manager, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 last month.
Before this debacle he was then removed by the PCB and replaced by Test skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-Khan-Niazi-c76385, as he had developed differences with the team management during the Caribbean tour.
However, he was, retained in the squad for the two-match http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ireland-c751 series. Afridi decided to miss the tournament and later announced his retirement from international cricket.
He now seeks to play county cricket and the upcoming Sri Lankan Premier League, which will only be possible once the PCB gives him the required permission.
