  1. If you are still on A/D you can extend for up to three years or less until you reach the end of your MSO.  Once you hit your MSO then you must reenlist as your "contract is over.

You may be recalled to active duty from an "inactive status" regardless of how may years you spend on A/D at any time during your initial 8 year miitary obligation.

If you have a "critical MOS" then you are prime. Should you desire to volunteer for A/D while in an inactive reserve status all you need to do is contact a Career Manager for your CMF at HQ, ARPERCEN in St. Louis MO. and they can tell you what is available by unit/location.

  2. You can reenlist to fulfill your 8 years of service if you like as either active duty or active reserve.  Both will be set by contract.  Otherwise, you can simply get out, dodge the national guard recruiters, and wait another 4 years for your honorable discharge.  Mine finally came in last month. :)

  3. Abosolutely!  You may reenlist if your time is up or extend.  See your local recruiter for benefits and advantages.
