I had my baby 8 months ago and I had an episiotomy. That area still feels tender/sensitive to me. What does this mean? Do I need to get it "restitched"? Please help!

  1. You need to contact your doctor and get an appointment.  Several side effects of episiotomy have been reported, including infection, increased pain, prolonged healing time, and increased discomfort once sexual intercourse is resumed. There is also the risk that the episiotomy incision will be deeper or longer than is necessary to permit the birth of the infant.
