After Brighton success, Sesentum set to thrive in Betdaq Casino Games Nursery at Kempton
Luca Cumani’s bay colt, Sesentum, won 1m maiden at Brighton last time, and should offer more in Wednesday’s Betdaq Casino Games Nursery at Kempton. The 2-year-old is certainly the one his yard will get the best out of.
After facing an unlucky defeat on debut at Wolverhampton, the son of Motivator learnt a good lesson, and raised his game significantly. He was hugely impressive on his latest start, as he outsmarted the favourite, Sublimation, by one and a quarter lengths in the SIS Maiden Stakes.
Despite not getting off to a fine start, the 10-1 travelled nicely to reach the front row. In the hands of Patrick Hills, he led entering the final furlong, and subsequently stayed on well to capture the first rank comfortably.
The conditions are quite different this time, but still it is very hard to underestimate his chances following a superb victory. He is all set to build on that, and looks to in an excellent position to do more goods.
Cat O´mountain should prove a worthy adversary for him. Despite being the top-weight, the 2-year-old can easily confirm the promise of his exceptional victory here last time. His story is also quite similar to Sesentum.
Mahmood Al Zarooni’s trainee faced debut defeat in August. It was not a disgraceful loss though. He came up with improved act on the second start here at the end of August, when beating Swing Easy by one and a half lengths in the Back Or Lay At betdaq.com Maiden Stakes.
Both abovementioned runners are brimming with confidence following their respective maiden wins. So, it will be a very close battle between them. Unlike Cat O´mountain, Sesentum is not going up in the class, and should be preferred at this level.
Out of other seven horses, no one makes any appeal. Off a tough mark, Muharrib needs a lot to make a race of it. Everleigh is yet to make a big impact in handicaps, but may do better over one mile. Club House is capable on his day, but others are open to more improvement. The plan is to start the class 4 meeting at 19:50 GMT.
