  1. They have to sign him first.. he is a RFA!

Snoop- The WINGS cut ties with LIV!

  2. He will probably be the backup next year bu t*t is not guarnteed. He has been waiting for a few yaers and he is finally going to get a shot. Although the wings might want to bring in a expereinced goaltender like Olaf Kolzig to be the backup.

  3. I believe that's the plan.

  4. If not Jimmy Howard, then either Stefan Liv or Logan Koopmans will be Chris Osgood's backup (barring Howard somehow fallters or isn't re-signed).

  5. Yes, Howard is the Wings #1 prospect.  He is a great young goalie and will get some time next season as Osgood's backup.   He was Detroit's first choice (64th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. I can't see someone else getting the nod as a backup.  Why not just put him up there and let him gain some experience, while getting to play at the highest level of hockey.  They will ease him into the starting role by the start of 2010-11 season.  Yes that is Osgood's last year under contract with the Wings.

  6. No, they will sign Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka

  7. Hard to say at this point. Well Osgood has played some of his best hockey at age 35, he can't do it alone and Howard is going to need some tuning as almost all prospects will. I could see Detroit swinging a minor deal for a current NHL backup and calling Howard up intermitently and see how he progresses. In fact I thought I just read an article where Ken Holland said while he is comfortable possibly using Howard for about 20 games next season he has not ruled out trying to obtain a veteran as well. It will be interesting.
