  1. Well I will probably be working while im in college because I could never repay my parents for paying for everything, im not the kind of person that gets everything handed to them.

and im proud to say that.

  2. um id do both! id go to college and the find a job while im there every penny counts plus you need a little money for Misc. things! either way it teaches you budgeting responcibility hardwork and balancing lifes curve balls when thery are big and small!

  3. i'd go to college. If you go to work, you will probably never head to college.

  4. I would try to do both at the same time, unless you're one of those single-minded people who can't multitask, in which case I'd suggest taking lessons in multitasking while doing both of the above

  5. i'm planning on having a job while in college.

definitely not a job that i would make my career out of, but an on-campus job.

right now i work at the movie theater & i plan to still work there when i come home from college.

  6. Imma get a job after college, take like one year off, but imma register for college though, sooo imma hav doors open for me,

get cash for dorms and stuff, maybe or just move out xD

  7. IF YOU ARE ONE OF THE FEW LUCKY PPL TO GET A JOB RIGHT AFTER HIGH SCHOOL... TAKE IT!!!!

  8. well i went to college and it worked out for me...you struggle for a few years but its worth it when your done. There isn't many jobs you can get straight out of high school with any real earning potential. Unless you have some super amazing offer, its good to go college first. you don't wanna be the old guy whos going for graduate positions later

  9. BOTH.  Go to school and get a job.  Then get an internship that will give you experience in your field when you get to Junior level of college.  That will help you pay for school while you go instead of taking out student loans that will take forever to pay off.  You'll be better off financially and experience-wise.

  10. If I were you, I would go to college first. When I graduated from high school in 2003, I decided that I was going to take time off to work (it was supposed to be a year). Eventually a year turned into three years. When I finally went back, it was the best thing I could have done for myself. Sometimes people need time off, but if I were you, if you're driven enough to go to school, I would do that. Otherwise, take time off to really think about what you want to do.

  11. I worked through high school and was my class' valedictorian.  So, I thought working through college would be just as easy.  It's not.  If you have good will power, and determination, you can do that.  If not, go to school first if you have the option, that way you will have the job of your dreams without having to have struggled much in school. I got scholarships, but I still needed money to live on, so I had to work full-time. I ended up losing my scholarships because of poor grades.  So now I am starting over.  If I wasn't happy with my life now, and I had it to do over, I would have gotten whatever loan I needed and just lived in a dorm until I was finished to get it all done at once instead of making excuses. You more than likely won't hate your job and get that burnt out if you go to college first.  Another good reason is the longer you are away from school, the more you'll forget what you've already learned, and some people tend to lose their focus, and end up being away from school longer than they wanted to. Good Luck.

  12. If you get a job(s) first, you'll definitely know what you don't want to do for the rest of your life.

If you can afford to not have a job...go to college. If you can handle both (or have to do both) more power to you.

Just remember, the longer you're away from school, and the more money you make, the harder it will be to go back.

If you're completely unsure what you want to go to school for, go to a junior college to get the general courses out of the way. It's much cheaper and most of the credits transfer to 4-year schools. (Make sure you talk to a counselor about credit transfers first!)

College is a lot of hard work. But it pays off with career/job options in the future. I can't imagine waking up everyday just to go to a job I really dislike.

  13. For me, I got a job after high school and then went to college.  It's hard to find good paying jobs without an education however.  I was one of the few lucky ones.  I was offered a full ride to UC Davis after graduating high school and turned it down.  I didn't know what I wanted to do with my life and I felt pressured into college by family.  Instead I went to work for my counties office of education as a Special Education Teacher's Assistant, mostly working with autistic children.  For me, this was the right path.  In doing so I've found that I love working with developmentally disabled children, and now I'm going back to school to get my teaching credentials.  It is rare however to be as fortunate to not only find a sustainable job out of high school, but also to get valuable experience before going to college.
