  4. Hi, I asked a similar question a few weeks ago.  Even though I knew that either the gamecube or the classic controller (wii) are acceptable on the wii with Ocarina, my questions though were 1) which one is better (the gamecube controller or the classic controller)? and 2) since Ocarina was made for the Nintendo 64 (NOT the gamecube), is there an adapter so that I can use the Nintendo 64 controller with the wii?

I've noticed the the button prompts on the Ocarina game screen have colors that DO NOT match the way the buttons are colored on the gamecube controller.  For example, the A button on the Nintendo 64 controller is Blue but on the gamecube controller the A button is Green.  The B button on the N64 controller is green, but the B button is gamecube controller is red.  So basically, when using the gamecube controller, the Ocarina screen will prompt to push the green button (B), but looking at the gamecube contoller I was accidently pushing A.  Really irritating.  Also there is no freaking blue button on the gamecube controller.  (the start button is red on the N64 controller by the way).

That being said, I prefer using the gamecube controller for playing Ocarina on the Wii.  Even though there are extra buttons that are duplicates of the C-buttons (there are 4 yellow buttons on the N64, but instead it is a C-stick on the gamecube controller) (namely some top buttons and Y and X)... I've gotten used to ONLY using certain buttons (just don't push those extra buttons at all) and I've memorized with my fingers where the buttons are in my mind, rather than looking down for a certain color.  I think the gamecube controller's buttons (mostly A and B specifically) are in better locations to push than are those on the classic controller (wii controller).  I hate the diagonal buttons of both the super nintendo and the wii classical controller.  A lot.

And yes, supposedly you CAN use the nintendo 64 controller with the wii.  You can buy a cable adapter to change the input male end.  See my question in my profile for the dude that answered where to buy one.  I just chose not to buy one because my gamecube controller, the wavebird, is wireless, and that is good enough for me... for now...

And that, I feel, is a darn good complete answer that I wish someone would have given me when I asked about this.
