After I insert a dvd

Question

after I insert a dvd disc in the dvd drive, it still asks me to isert a disc in the drive. It seems that it is not able to read the disc.We currently subscribe to netflix. Certain dvd"s whhen inserted do not play. I have used a cleaner disc but the dvd still does not play.
