with my Email address? Isn't it a big "no-no" for a certain individual in the group to keep it and "spam me?" I have an sbcglobal address. The unwanted emails are comming from a gmail address. Is there really anything I can do? This person could just say they got my email address off a bathroom wall or something. This person is also no longer involved on the board of the associtaion the Yahoo Group represents. Shouldn't they have had to relinquish this information?

What is the policy and am I "safe" joining Yahoo Groups in the future? This person is not going to harm me in any way except

a possible heart attack from how angry I am. I blocked her email address. I just find it so WRONG.

  1. any time you join a group, restricted, closed or public you're at risk of misuse of your e-mail address and other than reporting that person to their e-mailprovider as well as your own, blocking them is all you can do.

  2. for you to be safe the next time you join groups, try to join only those who are closed or restricted groups only that nobody can just easily get in wothout the owner's or moderator's approval. also. those groups that allow their members to hide their email address would be the best ones to join to secure you email Address.

  3. You said you blocked the person, so that is all you have recourse to do. Some people are just idiots, and it is hard to remain anonymous on the internet for any length of time. That is swhy all the warnings are put out there. Good luck!
