After I receive my fire and casualty license, how do i become an insurance broker? Thank you.?

I have passed my test to obtain my license for fire and casualty, I want to become an actual insurance broker, any advice? Thank you.

  1. look for a reputable insurance company to hire you.


  2. well who sponsored you.. normally you are sponsored by an insurnace company when you take those lisenses.. if you did them on your own, then start applying to insurance companies for commission jobs.. AIG, New York Life, Prudential (also investments) , you name it, ask about their payouts and go with the best fit,, they will all want to hire you becuase all they do is make money on you for the most part.

  3. My advice - go work for another broker, build up your book, learn how the business works.

    The next step after getting your license, is getting companies to give you contracts.  With no experience and no book to roll over, it's almost impossible to do this.  You'll need to build a book and get a few years insurance experience under your belt.
