Ok so i have had 6 ingrown toe nail surgerys, both of my big toes only. Each side of my big toes and I have had 2 sides redone. Now just wondering if you get it redone by the same doctor how many times is sufficient and will the doctor start doing them for free after so many redos?

Well on one of my sides now after a while, it has a tab of nail growing from the bottom alongside of my nail. WTF is this?

More details explaining my toes precedures:

Right side of right foot big toe has had 1 procedures(this is also the one im asking about)

Left side of right foot big toe has had 2 procedures

Right side of left foot big toe has had 2 procedures

Left side of left foot big toe has had 1 procedure

  1. change your doctor ,

  2. No, the doctor isn't going to start doing them for free.  He's removing the problem you have at the time, and there's not necessarily a lot he can do to prevent a return.  Given that you've had so many of these done, why haven't you gone to see a podiatrist?  Has the doctor discussed any reasons why you are continually getting ingrown toenails on those big toes?  One major reason folks get them is because they do not have enough room in their shoes- either the toe cap is too narrow or the shoe itself is too small.  The tab of nail growing where it shouldn't be needs to be looked at.  That may be damaged to the nail matrix where the nail starts or the nail bed which guides it along.  Correcting it will likely mean another procedure, and for that I highly recommend a podiatrist.  While you are there, perhaps you can figure out why these nails are continually growing inwards.

  3. The dr will do nothing for free. Your thinking crazy if you expect it.
