After Jaw surgery Care?

I've just had surgery on both the lower and upper jaw. They took bone from the bottom and placed it in the upper jaw to expand it and then they also shortened the front of my upper jaw to have my upper lip "relax".

Anyway its day five after my surgery and I'm having killer pains right next to my ears. Vacadican, ice, heat and all the fun pain killers are not working what so ever, and haven'tnt been able to sleep a good three hours because of it.

Any suggestions on what to do?

Little note:

Mouth is rubber band shut, cant open it what so ever.

Liquid diet still (Yay for boost X-x)

class III malculsion

plus: If you had this surgery before? How soon do they loosen the rubber bands X_X My teeth have felt like they are going to crack cause they are so tight on each other. Or anouther other things to heads up for at the doctors appoinments? :D any tips really on how to get through the after weeks really.

I have kaiser and they are not usefull what so ever is answering questions...

  1. You should have asked your dr these questions, I suggest phone the doc and find out, anyway, pain is normal and will subside after a week or so, just keep the ice on and keep head elevated.
