After Pandora Internet radio has ceased, are there any other similar internet radio stations out there?

Pandora was great, it enabled listeners to create there own station by selecting their favourite genres. Is there anything similar available for the UK?

  1. This isnt a radio station, but it has the principle of being able to choose songs according to what genre you like, in the form of matching bands...

...so say you like a particular band, type the bands name in the search, and it finds related bands that are similar by genre!

You need to click.. start listening->search radio->artist radio

You can view by the genres of Pop Mix, Hot Mix, Rock Tracks, or Alternative Tracks in "playlists"

you will need to make sure your computer has like java to click on the links!

Hope it solves your problem! x*x

  2. Although there are any number of alternate Internet stations to download or use to listen to their playlists or create your own, I prefer iTunes, Windows Media Player or AOL because they are big companies that are not going to clutter up your computer (well, with the possible exception of AOL). They are all free and all offer an astounding array of choices.

Availability in the UK is going to be trial and error. Pandora remains on my list because it still seems to be working here in the US.

The following sites will have live broadcasts or allow you to set up a custom station to your taste (below are download sites for internet players with lots of stations):
