  1. Seattle Slew, another triple crown winner!

  2. Cigar or John Henry.

  3. first would be the original big red...Man O War...although I appreciate that he won the first two triple crown races like he did I realize they rolled the track at Belmont to aid the speed freak Secretariat...and that he won by 31 lengths but that there were a number of track records matched or set in the month prior to and after the Belmont...that track was juiced...but I appreciate that he had a nice 4 year old campaign also winning on the grass in his last two outings...there were also two horses who were very successful while toting a lot of weight...one of them was Dr Fager...speed speed speed, set a then world record for 7 furlongs with a piano of weight on his back, he could sprint , route and turf...in the same year he was awarded Older Handicap horse, Horse of the year, sprinter of the year, and grass horse of the year...the last time any horse got all that recognition...there are many others but these three stand out in my mind...

  4. Mr. Ed

  5. Man of War

  6. Man of War, Scamper

  7. The original Big Red - Man o' War - who was regal in appearance and an absolute monster on the track, with his bloodline as important to racing in the 20th Century (keeping in mind the books simply weren't as large as they became in later years) as any champion who went to stud. Also, Man o' War was a shining star in the "Golden Age of Sports," and was very popular with sports fans who attended events or listened to radio coverage (that era's ESPN).

  8. Man o War, Seattle Slew, and probably Seabiscuit!! Seabiscuit had some guts in him!!!

  9. Man O'War comes to mind as being better than Secretariat. I have to say that my choice, based on performance and potential, is Ruffian. In 9 of 10 races she equaled or set track and/or world records, was never headed and won all 10 races. She was ahead of the '75 Kentucky Derby winner, Foolish Pleasure, when her leg broke. Even Lucien Laurin, trainer of Secretariat, said (quote may not be 100% accurate) "My God, she may even be better than Secretariat."

  10. Barbaro. The undefeated Barbaro... with the biggest Derby win in 60 years! Then he went on to the Preakness where he would face a life-threatning injury. That would later make him give up his fight.

Then on January 29, 2007, we had to loose our wonderful gift to us horse racing fans, he was euthinized.

Even though that Barbaro is gone we will all have an empty part in our hearts. But when the day comes... we will all get to see him again.

He would be turning offically FOUR on April 29. Which is only eight days away.

The thing that hurts us the most about Barbaro is that, now that he is gone, by doing what he loved, makes us feel gulty in a way. That this horse would have probably won the Triple Crown in about 28 years. Even though Bernerdini had won the Preakness by about five lengths, I'm sure we all know Barbaro would've beaten him. I mean this horse was un-willing to be beaten.

Even though we will never find out what Barbaro would've done with-out the accident, I'm sure that he would've won the Triple Crown, but there is always millions of different theories.

I miss Barbaro SO much, and cry lots when I see some sad videos on YouTube.com. But I just got to get over the fact that we lost one of the greatest horses sense Secretariat. That could've won the Triple Crown.

I think I've said enought about Barbaro, who is and always will be one of my favorite race horses ever.

So please, take my advice and think about Barbaro.

I think about Barbaro every day and always miss him. And I will never forget about our gift. So this sum's it up.

Barbaro is the greatest race horse after Secretariat.
