After WWII, instead of taking land away from Palestinians to create Israel why didn't they take German land?

First off, I do not support the creation of Israel at all. It was just a concession to the Jews. Something given to them simply to appease them. It creates more trouble than it's worth. But why in the heck did the Palestinians have to suffer? The Germans started the d**n war. Why didn't they take a chunk out of Germany to create Israel?

  1. Read your history, because you have it wrong.

  2. b/c it's their "chosen land" and they claim to have settled it before the Palestinians.

  3. Thank you! The King of Saudi Arabia argued the same thing at the time when he spoke to British and American leaders after WWII. The Brits and Americanos loathe the Muslims, this was a perfect way to create tension.

  4. Dear Cannonball,

I agree with you wholeheartedly. I do not support the creation of Israel either, and the creation of Israel is at the heart of the Arab's anger at the western world, esp. the US which continues to support Israel even when virtually all other countries feel their actions are wrong. and continues to supply Israel with weapons.

The idea of taking a chunk out of Germany was brought up as a possible solution for what to do with all the Jewish refugees following WWII, but it was rejected (I believe by the Jews themselves, but I'm not sure of that).  But the European countries and Russia didn't want the burden of absorbing these refugees.

President Roosevelt was the Arab's one hope.  Roosevelt felt that it was unfair to the Arabs to take their land (especially since the ARABS fought ALONG with the US and our allies AGAINST the Germans). Roosevelt challenged the secret treaty known as the Sykes-Picot Agreement between Britain, France and Russia, because President Wilson, following WW1, had laid out "The Fourteen Points" point 12 of which said that former subjects of the Ottoman Empire be given an "unmolested opportunity of autonomous development."

Unfortunately for the Arabs, Roosevelt died in office--and his successor, H S Truman, was later asked to renew Roosevelt's commitment to the Arabs, Truman said (direct quote) "I am sorry, gentlemen, but I have to account to 100,000s of people who are anxious for the success of Zionism.  I DO NOT HAVE 100,000S OF ARABS AMONG MY CONSTITUENTS."  So American President Truman sold the Arabs out for votes so he could get re-elected.

As it was, Jews from Europe and Russia, who had never set foot on Arab soil and didn't speak the language, were foriegn 'infidels' to the Arabs and they were invading Arab land, a violation of Arab beliefs (Arabs believe God gave this land to them). To add insult to injury, it was FOREIGNERS, Westerners--whom they had sided with against Germany--who 'sold them out.'

They should have taken part of Germany and given it to the Jewish refugees.  Now the Israelis will probably lead us into a war against Iran.

David Lamb's book says that 'every Israeli carries a guilty secret--they know they are living a lie.'  The Israelis know that the Arabs never 'stole' the land from the Jews in the first place.  It was the Romans who did that, and there weren't very many Jews living in Palestine at that time anyway.

  5. You have to read history to understand the whole story.Israel was a country  700 yrs before Islam became a religion. Hey Joe Canada Is that what your draft dodging parents taught you about the free world.... hows the beach weather up there in the frozen tundra ?

  6. Because, if I was Jewish I sure as h**l would not want to live down the street from my former concentration camp.
