I have a Toshiba Satellite M55-S135 and a Compaq Presario SR2020NX. Recently, I had to reinstall a copy of Windows XP (with SP2) and after the installation, I found that my ethernet on the Compaq is nowhere to be found and the same could be said for my Toshiba laptop. I checked the Device Manager and neither wireless nor ethernet is under network adaptors. Please help!!!

  1. Hi Aevis

Go into device manager to make sure that Windows sp2 didn't disable the driver.

Check under network adapters. If the driver is ther, do an update and insert your original CD in so that it can re-copy the correct drier. Sometimes they get corrupted especially with SP 2

It will work. Then, you can update the driver to a later version although, I wouldn't do it.

  2. using the pc your on to post this go to the toshiba website and download the nic drivers to a thumb drive or other media and install
