  1. its been awhile however in 1984 it was staples and they were remove within a week.  If your first child is c-section that does not mean does not mean your second has to be.  My second was natural.  Congratulations in advance.

  2. you have both. Your inside layers have disovable stitches and your outside layer had little staples. You get your staples out in a week. No it does not hurt at all to het them out, it is so much better when they are gone getting mine out didnt hurt a bit. My son is 3 months and I am still complety numb where I was cut

  3. Over here, its the dissolvable stiches

  4. Usually you get both....but it probably depends on your doctor/hospital.

  5. i to a choose when i had my c-section and i opted for all stitches what the do is stitch from the inside out and i had no visible stitches on the outside the rest just dissolve i had no problems what soever.

but the woman across from me got stitches and staples and she had complications with the scar bursting open again and then the pain of getting them taken out again and she wished she hadn't opted for that.

  6. I had a c-section last June, and I had stitches on the inside and 21 staples on the outside. Stitches on the inside usually dissolve, and my staples were taken out 7-10 days later. I can tell you that it hurts like h**l when they make you get up and "stand up straight" to walk afterwards.  I felt muscles I didn't even know I had!

  7. You usually have both. There are many layers of internal stitches, then staples hold the outside together. The staples are usually removed about 3-5 days after surgery (or before you leave the hospital). The stitches dissolve on their own.

And no, it doesn't hurt to get the staples out. Just a little tugging. Every woman I have ever taken staples out of wonders if it will hurt and is nervous about removal, and every single one of them has told me how surprised they are that it really didn't hurt.

  8. I'm from australia and when i had my c section in January i had stitches that disolved the whole lot did they were fantastic!

  9. I got staples after all 3 of my csections.  The staples stayed in for 3 days.  On the day I was going to leave the hospital they were removed and tape was put on to help hold the incision closed until it fully healed.  The tape fell off on it's own after a few days.

  10. it depends. You get stitches for the inside of the section and they come of on there own, And then you get staples to keep the thing closed, they don't leave marks and they get taken out before you leave the hospital. It doesn't hurt when they take them out

  11. With my first pregnancy I had to have a c-section and they just did disolving stitches on mine. I had no problem whatsoever. Im scheduled the end of september with baby #2 and hope they just do the disolvable ones again!

  12. I had staples and they removed them before I came home from the hospital. Then they just put on the strips of tape to hold it closed. The tape can be removed when it starts to come off on it's own. I think that was around 10 days.

  13. You get staples, and the Dr will take them out for you.  I had a c-section with both my children.  To tell you the truth, I can't remember how long it took for them to  take the staples out.  I think just a few days or a week or so.  If I rememmber right, I spent 3 days in the hospital, and then they sent me a tool home with me.  I was instructed to make an appoitment with my OB and then take the staple remover with you.  You are in and out in just a matter of minutes.

  14. You normally have both.

It also depends on the Dr. I know that they stitch the inner area with stitches and the outer skin they do staples. The Dr. will normally take them out (staples) and it depends on how long the Dr. wants you to keep them in.
