After a form for my website has been submitted, how do i redirect someone to another page on my website?

I have a website where people fill out and submit a form on line. The form is sent to me via email, but nothing else happens after that. In other words, they click the submit button and it seems like nothing happens. How can i redirect them to a different page. Also, please share any info on database building for websites if you know anything.
