  1. 4 points

  2. none....it`s called "ball-in-hand' , and it allows you or the other player to Position the Whiite , where-ever required.

if it`s your ball , then he is either displaying to you that he acknowledges the Foul or is reminding you (non-Verbally) of the Rule for that Foul.

    it`s a "Gentle-man`s Gesture".

push hard for getting any extra points ,if you want , but that will only make you look like a clown to the other PLayers and let`s face it ....un-less you are playing for Cattle Stations or Professionally (for money and Trophy) , a relaxing of the Rules to suit the Venue is totally acceptable.

especially if stated and agreed to before the start of the Game....and that` s all it is , a Game.

  3. After a foul it is ball in hand to the other player. Maybe this was their way of letting you know that they fouled and where letting you know you had ball in hand.
