After a general anesthetic???!!??

Question

I had a general anesthertic a week ago for a minor operation, I was only under the anesthetic for about 30 mins. The operation went well and I have had no pain, but I have felt really depressed since I had it. This is unlike me, so I wondered if it could be connected. What do you think?

yes that's normal get yourself  out and about if you able and you will soon feel better, chin up.

Yes, I have experienced that and know of others who have also experienced it.  Any operation and anaesthetic is a shock to the system. Hopefully you will feel better soon.  Can you spend some time with family and/or friends and try and talk about how you are feeling?  If you start to feel more depressed or the feeling does not begin to lessen in a few days please see your doctor.  Take care and be gentle with yourself.

Yes, this is quite common and will pass off once your wound has fully healed.  Even a minor op, under a short anaesthetic is a shock to your system and you cannot expect to feel 100% straight away.  Keep positive, eat and sleep well and you will soon (I hope) feel much better.  Good luck.

Very doubtful, it would be out of your system by now. Stress will cause depression. You would not have had to have very much anesthesia just to keep you out for 30 minutes. I would check into something else or talk to your Dr about it. I have had 6 surgeries so far and am about to have another and I have never had any such reaction.

Yes, I think this is quite a common reaction.  Anaesthetic takes a long time to totally leave your body, so you may feel depressed for a while.  You should feel better in a few days.  Get a lot of rest and take it easy.

I had the same reaction it took about a week and a half to feel ok get well soon

It can do, i felt similar after I had Anaesthetic a while back, if symptoms persist see your GP, it should just go away
