After a magnificent win, Barefoot Machine is keeping his chin up in the Williamhill.com St Leger Quarter-Finals
The St leger event concluded with astonishing results. No one thought, that Barefoot Machine, the hound having his very first sighting of the Plough Lane Track, will give a sensational hit and qualify for the quarter-finals.
Every heat produced amazing results, but Williamhill.com St Leger First Round's Heat 3 caught everyone’s eyes.
The black hound who declared himself as the fastest racer of the show was Barefoot Machine, covering the 687 meters distance in a superb timing.
He not only won the purse worth £100, but also vanquished the 1/1 ideal of the heat, Blue Bee.
Barefoot Machine, wearing white and black jacket with red number, started his victorious chase from trap 6.
It was not expected that P Hennessy’s two-year-old champ will become a show stealer.
He has not only proved himself as a real go getter, but the Irish dog has become a major threat for the rest of the hounds in the upcoming events of the Williahill.com St Léger.
The 5/5 favourite raced really well from the beginning. Later on he got wide and eventually, with his swiftness, the black dog earned the lead.
Being the forerunner, Barefoot Machine, with his speed, flashed through the track and crossed the wire in the least time among all the heats.
Tremendously whitewashing the rest of the contenders, the young hound covered his required distance in 41.88 seconds.
Superstar Lily, the runner-up, was 1 ¼ lengths away from the wire.
The four-year-old was in the race as a 14/1 favourite. Although trainer K R Hutton’s black b***h was not successful enough to win the purse, she has made her place in the next round by covering the distance in 41.98 seconds.
Following Superstar Lily by ½ a length was M J Dartnall’s Blue Bee, who was placed in the race as the most favourite one.
There were great expectations from the hound, that the blue b***h will come up with an amazing performance, but sadly she managed to finish third by reaching the finish line in 42.02 seconds.
Trainer M T Dennis’s white and brindle b***h, Rough Lass, got vanquished by 1 ½ lengths. Even though she had a clear run at the end, previously she unluckily railed through the middle. The 16/1 favourite was able to finish fourth in 42.14 seconds.
The hound who helped in concluding the Williamhill.com St Leger First Round's Heat 3 was Blackrose Monach.
The black dog was not only the slowest racer among the pack of hounds, but tragically, he was also the last one to cross the wire.
E J Cantillon’s two-year-old took 42.17 seconds to complete the required distance.
Barefoot Machine is all set to present another hit in the quarter-finals and prove to his contenders that it is a cinch for him to win the Williamhill.com St Leger event.
