  1. To answer your question, I'm disgusted at the quality and scope of 7's coverage and will vote against them in the only way I can by not watching them again, so you're not the only one by a long way.

At 6.30pm yesterday, the Aussies were competing in the Flatwater Kayaking (we know one of the crew) and not only did they not show it live because of the ads after the news and then their stupid Today Tonight, but they didn't even acknowledge that it had been on much less show it later. And what about them showing the AFL during the prime Olympic events on the weekend? I love AFL, but would never expect it to to be aired on 7 during these two weeks. I'm also completely fed up with seeing the same medal winning events over and over and over again while other events are completely ignored.

I know that they have to run advertisments and lots of them, but if they used the rest of the time far better than they have been, we'd all see a h**l of a lot more than we've been seeing. Even if we can't see things live, you'd think they would at least make an attempt to show events at some other time.

  2. Appalling coverage and amateurish at best!  Case example is having to sit through endless repetitions of extremely long promotion clips  every 20 minutes or so…it wouldn’t be so bad if they made more of them…but it’s just the same thing over and over again!

Another super annoyance and totally unnecessary is a situation where foe some unknown reason we have to sit and watch events that are devoid of any Australian competitors whilst Australian teams are playing in crucial matches.

I mean fair enough to watch other countries compete….but why on earth would you choose to broadcast other countries performance over our own?  We  have to watch a few seconds of highlights instead of the whole game.  And what was being played instead…repeats of Phelps or another foreign athlete ...repeats of an event that had already been broadcast a half dozen times thorough the day…come on that’s just stupid.

  3. my gawd, if I have to see another question about channel 7 ....................................geez...

  4. Theres a whole channel detocated to the Olympics. Its MSNBC channel 356 for direct tv

  5. Unfortunately most of the shows I like are on 7, except for their coverage of the Olympics, but yeah agree with your sentiment completely.

  6. Well this is coming from the channel who brings us such quality shows such as "Today Tonight" and "Deal or no Deal", it's not surprising that the coverage is shockingly bad.

Needless too say, none of the regular shows I watch are on 7 anyway so I won't have to waste my time with them though, if I knew how to delete channel 7 (I'd probably end up breaking my 42 inch plasma TV) I would.

  7. Um no

  8. Min eare on channle 6 but if I delete it my wife will kill me.

  9. You can please some of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time.

Be realistic, mate!  There is ONE tv channel and 35 sports!

They showed the AFL I imagine due to contractual agreements when they bought the rights to the 2008 AFL season. They would have to cover the games or else they would be taken to court and sued a fortune, unlikely to ever be able to bid again in the future.

And if it is about the fact that they are showing advertisements, perhaps you should complain to Kevin Rudd and his Government for not buying the rights to the Olympics and showing it on Channel 2.  Channel 7 is not a charity and it costs millions and millions of dollars to cover the Games, let alone buy the rights.
