  1. My first question would be who found the p**n, and why were they on someone else's computer?  What were they looking for & why did they find it?  I don't believe the police would do anything without credible evidence of any wrongdoing other than hearsay, and the accuser better be able to prove it wasn't THEM that was the guilty party.  We just don't have the magnitude of police resources available to come close to checking everyone's computer on a whim & it would be awfully scary if that were to happen....

  2. Within the next 48 hours the police will confiscate the computer and have their experts go through it to find out exactly what is there and just deleting it will not take away all of the evidence.  The police have to get a search warrant to take the computer so it could take hours of a few days, depends on the judge.

  3. The report will be investigated.

The police will try to determine the source's credibility. If the source is credible, they will try to verify the report. They will then pursue a search warrant for the computer, take it and go through every thing on it. If they find child p**n, then the individual will be charged & tried, etc.
