Why do the whole team then go out on the field and then line up in two rows going down the line and shaking hands with each other? How did this tradition start and when?

  1. idk

  2. I think it was picked up from internationally.  Where actually teams would shake hands with their opponents nad not each other.

LIke in the Little League World Series, after the conlcusion, the two teams shake each other hands.

In the MLB, with 162 games, and sometiems when there is anomisty brewing, itts best for the winner to shake their own and the losers to go back in the clubhouse and let the crowd watch their own team celebrate on the field.

  3. its called team unity

  4. They don't shake hands per se. They're more high fiving each other.

  5. The way baseball teams do it is perfect for making sure that every player congratulates every other player on the team. It's very democratic and inclusive. Different sports do different things - in hockey they all hug and hi-five around the goalie. In soccer they give their shirts to the other team...there's really no explaining it, it just is.

  6. It's about sportsmanship, which has been there since the inception of team sports.

  7. I don't know how it started or win . But it's to congradulate each player on how well they did in the game .
