After an injury has healed, how do I prevent scars from looking so bad?

Can they be prevented? Is there something I can use so they don't look so bad or speed up the recovery? I have olive skin and now some of areas look pink or white. Also does the sun make them worse.

Thank you

  1. Yes, the sun does make them worse. I'd reccomend using mederma every day. it works great as long as you keep using it.

  2. umm im pretty sure theres alot of things to put on scars. like at walgreens, they have plenty of things that probly wont cost u that much. something like coco butter. but its best to maybe ask ur doctor for the best thing to use.

hope this is useful to ya! =]

  3. i use bio-oil - it's meant to help reduce the appearance of scars and stretch marks.

  4. Vitamin E - rub it in - which will soften your scar ...

Definitely put sunscreen; even if just that area especially if its still pink ...

I used to carry around like a small tube or chapstick spf 45 or whatever and rub it in that area in the sun.

    Good Luck=)
