How long will it take to pass Basic training, Warrant officer candidate school, and Woft school. How long will it take to do all of those. How long will it take till you are done with all of your training? once a pilot and all the training is done, what kind of things do new helicopter pilots do when first deployed if your a black hawk pilot? like flying troops or supplies around, and what areas , like high risk or simple?

thanks!

  1. It will take 3 years or so to finish all the way through flight school.

If you are deploy as a hawk pilot you can do everything from troop movements to sling-load ops, to aerial recon work, and command and control flying.

    Finally for the risk question:

"Remember that you are paid extra as a pilot because those jobs have more inherent risk."

    - Former US Army Special Forces Officer.

Any flying is risky.  If you choose to do it, remember the sole purpose of the helicopter in combat is to support the guy on the ground.

  2. Training will take you about 15 months but when you get to your unit there will be more training with your pc {Pilot in charge} all are medium risk even state side you got wires uneven ground in LZS there's nothing simple in a black hawk but being able to fly in the Army is very rewarding and well worth it Remember to take care of your crew chief hes the guy that makes sure your aircraft is safe
