After bills and essentials, how much spending money do you leave yourself per week?

hi,

i'm working out a budget to see if i can afford to buy a car. after working out bills and essentials like food, how much is "ok" to leave yourself as spending money? i.e £50 a week? £100?

Just so i know whats normal.

  1. depends on your wage

    Usually I leave myself with more than I can afford.

    If you're thinking of a loan I wouldnt :] debt isnt much fun


  2. i get £100 and keep £20 for me so if you make £200 keep out £40

  3. It depends what you do with the money, if you go out a lot or if your a fan of the beauty counter at debenhams. set yourself an amount like £20 out of every hundred you earn. You should give yourself spending money or life will get very boring only ever working to paying your bills!
