Always trying to make deviled egg turns out to be a boring egg salad due to above problem. Why does this happen? Am I not boiling the egg properly?

  1. make sure you use fresh eggs, boil them from room temp, not straight from the fridge, then when they are cooked take pot to sink and run with cold water till eggs are easy to handle then peel, don't wait till they go stone cold.  Good Luck

  2. Put  salt in the water, boil the eggs, and immediately run cold water over them for several minutes.

Then remove.   There is one end of the egg that has an air pocket.  Tap one end of the egg on a firm surface to crack the shell.  You will be easily able to tell which end has the bubble.  Once you've cracked the bubble end, peal from that end.  The egg peals easier from that end.  Also, fresh eggs are harder to peal.  If you have time, let them set for a week.  I don't know why letting them set for a week helps, but it does.  I know the refrigerator dries out as it chills.  It also is for that reason never leave champagne in the fridge for long.  It dries out the cork and can spoil the wine.

  3. Right after you finish boiling the eggs, pour out the boiling water from the pot and fill it with cold water and let them sit for  a while. This will loosen up the eggs from the shells and make them easier to peel.

    Good luck!

  4. put some salt in your water it makes it easier to peel the eggs

  5. usually that means that your eggs are old.  Eggs are dated, so check the date on the egg carton.

  6. my dad used to boil them until they were done, and then run cold water on them until the water in the pan was FREEZING cold. then he let them sit for about 15 minutes, and THEN peeled them. never had a problem :)

  7. put cold eggs into pan with cold water, when water boils -time for 5 min. dump out boiling water.run cold water over.when cool fill pot w-half way with cold water the rest ice.let sit for half hour or so. will peel easily

  8. judith is right. I usually put them in a bowl of ice water for a couple of minutes to cool them off, but of course I like to dirty all of the dishes when I cook.

  9. No problem! After boiling the eggs immediately place them into ice water to quick chill them. This will keep the egg inner skin from sticking.

PS. Try making an egg salad sandwich using Kraft Sandwich Spread and a little Gulden's Brown Mustard. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

  10. WHEN PEELING EGGS PUT THEM IN WATER AND CRACK THE SHELL THEN PEEL UNDERWATER. THE SKIN COMES OFF EASIER WHEN IN WATER.

  11. run it under cold water
