  1. As far as I know, you will not actually receive money from the government but will have something of a tax break (kind of like what happens whenever you donate to Good Will or other places like that).

  2. I bought a hybrid in 2005 and I received a deduction on my taxes that year.  So, the government does not "give" you money, they just make you pay a little less in taxes.  This deduction can only be claimed once and it has to be claimed in the year that you bought the car.

  3. It's a nice thought but no.

  4. You will get a credit as far as I know they wont actually give you any money.

  5. which government?

The US govmt will give tax breaks for Hummers, so a big 4x4 hybrid will probably get a break too, even though it will only manage 20mpg.

The UK govment charges reduced road tax based on the CO2 emmissions, so the Prius it is £15 compared to £150+ for more polluting cars/trucks; for pure electric cars it is £0 per year. London congestion charge is £0 for hybrids.

EU does not allow any reimbursement because of fair trade laws (ie no hybrids made in EU).

  6. for???????

  7. you wish lol

  8. I am under the impression all of the tax incentives or credits expire on the hybrids at the end of the year.  This article I found helpful in regards to some of the incentives.

  9. There is a tax credit for hybrids - it offsets your taxes if you owe money.

However, this credit has been phased-out for Toyota hybrids because they've sold so well.  Other hybrid makes still qualify for credits.
