After drawing women’s Euro Basket, Great Britain enumerated the schedule 2011
A number of coaches, journalists and National Federation representatives came from all over the Europe where they performed magnificently and went to the finals and made their fans tremendously passionate. The European Women Basketball competition
will be vigorously hard in summer 2011. It is almost impossible to predict the probability of either team to be the winner. The upcoming Euro Basket Women 2011 will be held from 18th June to 3rd July.
The Russian’s Euro Basket women’s silver medallist in 2009 will be facing the withstanding contention against Lithuania, Slovak Republic and Turkey in group A. while champion France is going to compete with Croatia, Greece and Latvia, the troublesome group.
Group B visualizes, in the latest match up in FIBA world championship the huge tumult flourished by two teams, Belarus and Czech Republic will be challenging each other in the tournament. In group C, the 2009 bronze Spain medallist, Montenegro and the team
that will earn their wings over additional qualifying tournaments, will be facing their anchoring team Poland.
This tournament will be the hardest one and the huge lot of all and sundry will be there from all around the Europe. Both Groups A and B will be anchored by the city of Bydgoszcz while Katowice will anchor both Groups C and D. The enlisted four first round
groups are the following:
Group-A: Lithuania, Russia, Slovak and Turkey.
Group-B: Great Britain, Israel, Belarus and Czech Republic.
Group-C: Montenegro, Poland, Spain and the qualifier team.
Group-D: Latvia, France, Croatia and Greece.
The final round of the tournament will be held at Lodz. The sixteenth team which will get there in the competition will be selected after the Qualifying Additional Tournaments (AQT). These tournaments will be held in Italy and Hungary. In these AQT’S two
groups will be taking part that will be Group A and Group B, each group contains five teams. In Group A, Finland, Bulgaria, Netherlands, Ukraine and Hungary are included. Group A will be hosted by Hungary in Sopron. While in Group B, Germany, Italy, Serbia,
Belgium and Romania are included. Group B will host by Italy in Taranto. The schedule from the Great Britain for the upcoming tournament is enlisted below:
1) GB Vs Belarus on 18th June.
2) GB Vs Czech Republic on 19th June.
3) GB Vs Israel on 20th June.
In 2012 Olympics, GB’S both men’s and women’s teams could play as hosts. In last summer, they defeated Slovakia, Ukraine and Germany and became the qualifying group for the finals for the very first time in 54 years. It was and will be an immense pleasure
for them to be in the finals after long lasting struggle. A team that created a stir in the competition and made Russia shocked last in summer’s WC in Brno, the Belarus will be executing its efforts against GB in Bydgoszcz on 18th June next year. In the second
phase, a group of six will play the top three qualified in the Great Britain’s Group B. This phase will also be held in the city of Bydgoszcz. Great Britain was also included among those four teams who brought the competition to a draw. These tournaments were
held at Lodz where as in the coming year eight finals will be held and the last one on 3rd July.
The Great Britain’s Sarah McKay recently came back to the life after her knee surgery said that they have to concentrate on their selves leaving aside the matter of results.
After the selection of eight qualified teams in the last summer and the departure of the six European qualifiers, the last qualifier team will be selected next year for further tournaments held in Italy and Hungary in June. Two qualified teams from two groups
will then face each other in the fiercest tournament on June 12-15, with the leading teams which have been reached successfully in the European Women Basketball Championship 2011.
