  1. What does one cold January have to do with the documented 100+ year climate trend?

You only need 1,199 more cooling months in a row to reverse the trend...

Here's an excerpt from NASA Director Dr. James Hansen's explanation:

    http://www.columbia.edu/~jeh1/mailings/2...

"The monthly fluctuations of global or near-global temperature, as well as the trend over recent decades can be seen in Figure 2 for the GISS surface temperature analysis as well as the lower tropospheric data of UAH (University of Alabama at Huntsville)2 and RSS (Remote Sensing Systems).  The reason to show these is to expose the recent nonsense that has appeared in the blogosphere, to the

effect that recent cooling has wiped out global warming of the past century, and the Earth may be headed into an ice age. On the contrary, these misleaders have foolishly (or devilishly) fixated on a natural fluctuation that will soon disappear.  The large short-term temperature fluctuations have no bearing on the global warming matter or the impacts of global warming..."

  2. The scientifically uninformed masses may not, but the scientists in China that understand the difference between weather and climate certainly are "thoroughly convinced of AGW".  That's why they (along with 12 other leading nations in the world) signed the Joint Science Academies statement on climate protection.  It says in part:

"It is unequivocal that the climate is changing, and it is very likely that this is predominantly caused by the increasing human interference with the atmosphere. These changes will transform the environmental conditions on Earth unless counter-measures are taken."

According to Zheng Guoguang, the new chief of the China Meteorological Administration (CMA), the average temperature in China will inch up by about 2 C by 2050 compared with the 2000 level.

  3. Never mind china its cold as h**l here in michigan . What AGW are you talking about ?

  4. I think China has finally learned their lesson. They should be signing Kyoto any day now. Or maybe if a giant glacier formed in their northern region, they would sign then.

It becomes pretty difficult to extort money from people for global warming when they are dying from cold temps.

  5. Nearly half of the Chinese (47%) call the issue critical, making it number three on their list. The publics in these countries not only believe that climate change is a serious problem, they are also willing to bear the cost of combating it. Most Australians (68%) and pluralities of the Chinese (42%) agree that global warming is a serious problem that must be addressed now “even if this involves significant costs.” This willingness on the part of many Chinese and Indians to take action against global warming puts them at odds with their own governments. Both the Chinese and the Indian governments have argued that as developing countries, they should not be obligated to curb emissions.

The publics of both China and Indians say less-developed countries should promise to limit their greenhouse gas emissions if developed nations are willing to provide substantial aid. The Chinese support such commitments overwhelmingly (79% to 8%)

An overwhelming majority of the Chinese (85%) favor incorporating environmental standards into international trade agreements.

  6. Yes.

  7. I don't know, but I think my source might explain, so check it!

  8. who cares about chinese, there is to many off them so what if 2 million of them die, they'll repopulate probably in couple weeks lol. If someday something bad will happend on this plannet and everyone will die except for the few Chinese ppl who will survive, they will repopulate are planet earth lol...

  9. The do not have to be convinced, they are excluded from any international agreements.

  10. Maybe not but they should be thoroughly convinced that Climate Change is bad...and eventually it willl be bad for everyones' pocket....so they should be concerned and change their wasteful manner for a cleaner environment...THe goal is a cleaner environment. You are losing sight of the goal and the problem. That is a very ignorant question/statement

  11. What's AGW?
