Question:

After endometriosis surgery

I just had laparoscopic endometriosis surgery this past Monday. Boy, is this recovery painful! Anyway, I was just wondering how long it took you to conceive after having this surgery. I know everyone is different and I am aware of the statistics. I am just looking for personal stories from those who have gone through this.

My doctor said we can start trying next week. My husband's "stuff" is fine. My doctor said that he got it all out and that the tubes are open and looked good. He is convinced that the endo is the reason we aren't pregnant yet.

Thanks!

  1. I had a lap in June of 07. The doc said he wasn't sure if it was endo b/c it didn't look like normal endo, so he just took samples to send to the lab and didn't do a removal of any. Turns out it was endo, Stage 2. So I went on Lupron shots for 6 months from Aug 07-Jan 08.

It took until April for AF to come back from that. We've been TTC ever since then with no luck yet. We were TTC for a year before I even found out about the endo too!

Timing is of the essence when dealing with endo. The endo will start growing back quickly. And especially since endo is linked with your estrogen, its linked with your cycle, so the quicker you can get pregnant, the better!

Best of luck and if you need an endo/TTC buddy, feel free to email me off my profile!

    Dust to ya!

  2. I don't have a success story,...yet...but I have had 3 endo laps and they told me every time that the 3 months after is the best possibility.  I am however surprised they told you to start trying next week.  y docs all told me to wait 2 weeks after the surgery to have s*x.  Also, I would not do it right after the surgery unless you know you are ovulating otherwise it could be very painful.  Just some advice.

    Good Luck!!
