After filing for an extension to file 2007 taxes, does one automatically have until Oct. 15, 2008?

Do any other forms have to be filed to extend until 10-15-2008 or is the 6 month extension automatic if filed before 4-15-08?

You had to file the extension form 4868.

As a few years ago, that became a 6 month extension.

Before that it was 4 months and then another form to get another 2 months.
