hi there i am in usa for immigration visa and i got green card and i want to go back pakistan for 2 year what is the good process?

some 1 told me that if i inform them that i am going pakistan for 2 years they will not cut those 2 year from my citizenship is it true???

please tell me.

  1. If you are going back to Pakistan for two years, you must apply for and receive a re-entry permit before you go.  this document will allow you to stay away for up to (but not a day over) two years.  Otherwise, staying away for more than one will will automatically invalidate your permanent residency.

    As for applying for citizenship, yes the two years you are gone cannot be included in the total number of years that you can count toward citizenship.

    You are not a US citizen, so you do not have specifis rights.

    Do not forget that.
