Surely they would've taught him a lesson and demoted him to a lesser fight, maybe they agreed with his decision?

  1. Great Question  ---

For quite a few years I have felt that Joe Cortez is the worst referre in all of boxing.

I have watched boxing for over 40 years. My Dad is friends with Arthur Mercante, Sr. & plays cards with him weekly.

I told my Dad how I felt about Joe Cortez being the worst referee there is today & he related my comment to Mercante.

My Dad told me that being the gentleman that he is ........Mercante just smiled knowingly when my  Dad told him how bad I thought Joe Cortez was.

I cringe everytime I see Cortez as the third man in the ring.

BTW - Joe Cortez was not just a lousy referee in the Hatton/PBF fight......Joe Cortez is a lousy referee in 9 out of 10 fights that he referees.

  2. You're right his handling of the Hatton-Mayweather fight was atrocious.  Hatton didn't stand a chance fighting two people in the same ring, but then again that's what we expect when a Brit fights in the States.

  3. I don't know that much about boxing, only watch it sometimes when my boyfriend is, and have watched a couple of the matches he refereed (the Hatton-Maywether one and also the Calzaghe-Hopkins) and he makes my blood boil! he just seems to get in the way all the time! He's watching the fight now but I don't wanna watch cos I know he'll get on my nerves again.

My boyfriend just told me about him disqualifying someone recently for no good reason, and during the fights I watched I have also wandered how he gets away with so much!

  4. Ah, I see the Hatton diaper-babies are out in full force on this one.  Your boy got whupped by a superior fighter, and it looks like Hatton will never regain his old form again.  Money May knocked the fight out of him.

Cortez is a fine ref, the job is 100 times harder than you realize.  He didn't make a mistake, he enforced the rules and the WBC "we be corrupt" over-ruled him to benefit a mexican fighter.

Curious about the "Respected UK fans".  You do realize you twats booed the American National Anthem, while on American soil?

  5. What fight? am i missing something?
