After his success in Romford, Romeo In Miami is all set for the Primus Telecom Grand National
The four-year-old Romeo In Miami, who experienced an amazing victory in the Coral On TV Hurdle, is all set for the upcoming prestigious event, the Primus Telecom Grand National
The category one race, Primus Telecom Grand National 2011, is scheduled on the 26th August, 2011, at Wimbledon Stadium. The total prize money is £1,500, and the winner of the race will achieve a purse of £250.
The 480 meters semifinals' winner will enter the finals of the Primus Telecom Grand National 2011, which is scheduled on the 30th of August, 2011, at Wimbledon’s race track. Out of £9,300, which is the total prize money, the purse consists of
£7,500.
Trainer R Holloway’s champion, Romeo In Miami, was recently won the Coral On TV Hurdle. The 400 meter Open Race was held, at Romford Stadium on the 12th of August.
The total prize money was £1050, and the lucky greyhound won the purse of £750, while the other five contenders were rewarded £50 each.
Son of Bright smile out of Dodgem By Design, Romeo In Miami had an amazing win, against his contender Aero Vegas, who finished second in the race.
Romeo started his chase from trap 3. The race became challenging for him due to Aero Vegas's exceptional performance, but as he came near the finish line, the brave champion, Romeo In Miami, raced so determinedly that he placed himself at the leading position
and finished first.
The brindle coloured greyhound covered his distance in 24 minutes and 94 seconds, which was only 1 seconds more than trainer K J Findlay’s Aero Vegas, who covered the distance in 24 minutes and 95 seconds.
It was hard luck for the fawn dog, Aero Vegas, who was very quick during the whole race, jumped really high over the second hurdle and started leading the race, but the situation went bad when Romeo went ahead in the final minutes while reaching the wire.
Whiterock Champ, a four-year-old black and white dog, finished third with 25 minutes and 3 seconds total calculated time, 1 ¼ lengths behind Aero Vegas.
Blonde Banjo was right behind Whiterock, reaching 1 second late for the forth position while Belief and Fast Usain finished fifth and sixth, respectively.
The entries of the Primus Telecom Grand National will start on the 20th of August and end on the 21st.
