After i pass my CBT moped training, do i have to wear L plates?

yes you have to wear L plates until you pass part two of your test because cbt only allows you to ride solo on small [ie]50-125 cc machine until you take other part of test too become fully qualified-within two years of obtaining licence or you are off bikes for 1 year but can still take lessons in a car--stupid law but because of european rules we british bikers have too suffer this c**p but best of luck when you take test its easy if you just take your time and listen to instructor

YES, all the CBT does is allow you to ride on the road, it is not a test as such hence the name Compulsory Basic TRAINING. To ditch the L plates you will need to pass your theory test and the actual motorcycle test.

When you complete your CBT you are entitled to ride up to a 125cc (Unless aged 16 which means you can only ride upto a 50cc until you are 17) on learner status which means:-

1) You MUST display L plates on the front and back of your bike

2) You are NOT allowed to ride on motorways but you can ride on duel carriageways

3) You are NOT allowed to carry pillion passengers (someone on the back).

You are restricted to these until you take a practical test and the CBT must be taken again every 2 years (unless the law is changed) if you want to continue riding (unless you pass the practical test).

In N.Ireland when you pass your test you have to wear R (restricted) plates for a year. Limited to 45 mph. I think they are going to do similar in England soon.

Yes, the CBT is to let you practice on the roads til your big test.

You need L's on your moped - you haven't got to wear them !!  ;)

L's are on until you pass your 'big' test.

yes....and if u dont pass your full test within 2 years youll loose it for 12 months and have to start all over again
