i know its not my shampoo because i have tried different ones

it has happened for a little less than a week

could it possibly be from straightening/curling my hair

because i straighten a lot but it never smells but i have curled my hair recently a few times and it could be that you hold it for a while with the meathod of curling i do

if you have any input that would be great :)

  1. Whenever I get my hair cut my hair dresser insists on curling my hair afterwards. I think it's because she works with elderly all day long and doesnt' really get a full set of hair that often.

Anway, I found that my hair smelled not so pleasant when I took a shower to get rid of the curls and the hairspray the next day.

The curling iron singes the hair when it's held on too long. So naturally the water is going to make it smell bad.

I'd suggest not curling it at all or not holding the curling iron on your hair for too long in the future.

  2. when ur taking a shower

    ... and put your shampoo

on just like it sit there for like 3min...

and wash it and do it agian

    =]

    hope it works

  3. well when im in the shower i usually wash my hair 5 times.

then conditioner but when im washing my body i leave the conditioner in and then rinse it out.

but most times the heat from my straightner and it does smell kinda weird

but its probably the curling iron...

if it has a hint of burnt smell in it...which mine does

but usually  i put in this thing from Loreal that is supposed to help it which it does...you should try it.

  4. Hair straightening, curling and coloring products have chemicals in them that can stay in your hair up to two weeks, depending on thickness and condition of your hair.

If you use more than one product, you now have a combination of chemicals. If you use one product and before the chemicals completely exhausted its smell, you use another chemical, the two chemicals can bond and make a new reactive smell.

Wash your hair with thick tomato juice and lemon. The acid in the juices removes many smells and residual chemicals. Let the juice sit on your hair for about 15 minutes before rinsing out. Then wash the tomato juice out with a non-fragrant shampoo designed for your type of hair. Wash a few times until it is free of tomato juice. Important to use a non-fragrant shampoo because fragrance is another chemical.

Wash your combs, brushes curler irons, curlers, etc in a mixture of dish soap (suggest Dawn) and rubbing alcohol. If there is any residual smell on these items, replace them or they will continue to transfer the smell back into your hair.

I suggest Dawn dish soap because it is non fragrant and although a strong soap it can also gentle to your hair.

After removing all the chemical smells, make sure your favorite shampoo and conditioner are free of smell. Some shampoo and conditoner products can turn rancid and transfer that smell to your hair. And some shampoos conflict with other conditioners. This is one reason many manufacturers make a shampoo and conditioner set.

Good luck. I hope this helps removing your unwanted smell.

  5. wash it really well with like garnier fruitis.. its smeells awesonme,. and remmember to makee the bubbles.. like alot of themm

  6. Is your curling iron old? because if you are always straigtening your hair and it never smells but then when you curl your hair it does then it could be the curling iron. i had the exact same problem my hair is naturally curly but in the morning i would curl a few hairs that were frizzy and looked out of place. For like a week my hair would smell like burnt/ something else. I couldn't get it to go away with washing it. So i finally got rid of my curling iron and got a new one. I don't have that problem anymore :)
