I have called the telecom help line 6 times and they don't seem to know what the problem is. They have already replaced filters for me saying the others are faulty - I can't see that myself. Any ideas.

  1. Ok, connect the caller ID unit into socket before you put the filter on. THEN put the filter into the phone jack point on the caller ID unit, and connect your phone into the filter, that should do the trick

  2. Caller-ID comes between the first and second ring. Is it possible there's something interfering when your line rings? Is an answering machine set to answer after the first ring or something?

If you disconnect the filter from the jack to which your phone is connected, does Caller-ID work? If so, you know it's definitely in the filter.
