I want to make sure my friend's name is on the title as a co-owner of the property, it is our primary residence.

  1. Just go to your local tax recorders office and tell them you want to add someone to your title (they may refer you back to your title company) but some states will let you do it right there with a notorized statement

  2. You can add Barney The Purple Dinosaur if you want to. The property is yours. They may be able to tell us what and how we can build on it and tax us for what is ours over and over  but they can't tell you who can be on the Deed.

  3. Go to a real estate lawyer. It should be a simple process. It is called "joint tenancy."

  4. OK... so what is your question? I don't think you have to go to a lawyer, just call your title company and see what to do.

  5. Title company. The same type of company you use to settle/close properties.  They can do this.

  6. I might be tired, but what's the question?
