who are the top three at the head of the mens list for total career greand slam victories [incl mens doubles & mixed doubles] and how many did they each win?

[i know of course you can't in any way compare the numbers of men versus women.....men being more individualistically competitive....the standard of competion historically in the womens game....and the level of effort necessary for men to win best of 5 set matches precluding men from competing effectively in another competition...

but all the same i'd like to see the stats!]

Women - Billie Jean King (39), Margaret Osbourne duPont (37), Louise Brough Clapp and Doris Hart (both 35).

Men - As you say, Roy Emerson (28), John Newcombe (26), Todd Woodbridge (23).
