After my surgery from workers comp does my employer have to give aconsistent work schedule?

just got back to work after a surgery for a workplace injury, im on permenant restrictions, now they have a job for me but i work different places everyday and at different times everyday. i never know my schedule till they tell me and they always change it at the last minute. my wife is about to lose her job because she has to keep changing her schedule because they keep changing mine. for 6weeks now i ve been working 6 days a week. now mind you im employed by my city and i took my employment with them because of the schedule and weekends off. now im having conflict with childcare, my wifes employment, my childrens school schedule and now the school is threatening to call cps because somedays we have to pick them up late, before i got hurt on this job everything ran smoothly now its just chaotic because i can t get a consistent schedule.... is thi legal... any advice?

  1. It is legal. However, you are not the only one I'm sure that has been injured on the job and must now be accommodated. If they are not experiencing the same problem, I would go to HR and complain. The law requires equal treatment. If they have a regular work place and a regular work schedule, you should too.

    Although that may be what they are trying to find out. Where you can now best work. If so, it is time to press them for a decision.
