  1. Absolutely do not ******* listen to #1. Hes a moron.

You will get to make a dream sheet, it does NOT mean you will get that duty station.

  2. sometimes, i have known several people that just get sent somewhere back in the states that happened to my husband, and recently to a new guy that came to his unit....

  3. First of all your question is rank dependent and also based upon years and tours served.  If you are an NCO you can call your branch manager at DA and request a duty station but it is still "NEEDS OF THE ARMY".  If you are lower enlisted E-4 and below, you kinda are at the NOTA level whether you want to be or not.  Again, RHIP on this one.  You left out your rank in your question so NCO striped higher E-5, E-6  mid- carreer get to finagle a bit more than the NOTA E-4 and below.

E-7 and above have a designated P.O.C. they can call for assignment selection.

    So, what's your rank ??

  4. You will have a better chance of getting the base you want stateside but it is not a guarantee. It mainly depends on if there are any openings for your career field. The more bases you can list on your dream sheet the better.

  5. Yes, since you are serving overseas in a higher risk zone.  You well tell them the top three places you want to go, and you'll get one.
