  1. I hope you scattered straw on top of seeded area,as this will keep the seeds in place and keep them moist! Water generously every day! you should begin to see new grass within 7 to 12 days depending on the water they get during the day! Good-Luck!

  2. It is relative to the ground and air temperature, and the frequency of water you are giving it. Also the type of grass.

Don't let the seed dry out. The more you improve and work the soil before seeding, the more moisture it will maintain and assist germination. Depending on where you are, the heat could be a detriment, unless you are using warm season grass.

In a nut shell though, if you keep it adequately hydrated, the fastest times could be:

Rye in 5 to 7 days.

Fescue in 10 to 14 days.

Warm season grasses in 14 to 17 days.

Water it 3 times a day or more if you can. Keep it moist.

And that is the early times for germination, not all the seed will sprout that fast.

  3. Don't know where you are, but you shouldn't plant grass in real hot weather, it won't grow at all.  Better to plant in spring or fall.  But keep it wet and it might sprout in 3-7 days, shorter for sunny spots, longer for shade.  Sorry for the long answer to simple question.
