  1. 4 players still have to be in the 30 yard circle not including the keeper an the bowler so basically 6 inside and then you can have 5 players outside the 30 yard circle but only have 2 players behind square on the legside. also in the first powerplay you must have 2 catchers close in eg. slips or short leg etc.

  2. After the power play overs,  there should not be  no more than five fielders standing outside the fielding circle during  remaining overs..

  3. The fielding captain only needs four players inside the circle, plus the bowler and wicket-keeper, in between powerplays or when all the powerplays are over!! So a maximum of 5 fielders are allowed to be outside the 30 yard circle in between powerplays or when the powerplays are over!!

  4. After the powerplays the rule is that you can keep as many people as you like you like outside the circle.

  5. During the first 10 overs of a 50 over innings a maximum of 2 fielders are allowed to be deployed in the outfield. A minimum of 2 fielders (other than the bowler and wicket-keeper) have to be deployed in the close infield. If the number of overs in the innings is restricted to less than 24, the length of the fielding restrictions is reduced to 8 or 9 overs.

The restriction of having a maximum of two fielders in the outfield is applied for a further two blocks of 5 overs, with the timing of these blocks decided by the captain of the fielding side. These 5 over spells are called Powerplay 2 and Powerplay 3 and may be shortened if the length of the innings is restricted.

For the rest of the innings, a more generous maximum of five fielders in the outfield applies.

  6. First power play they can be only 2 fielders outside the circle, 2nd & 3rd power play 3 fielders can be outside the circle. After the power plays, excluding the 'keeper and bowler there should be at least 4 fielders INSIDE THE CIRCLE.

    edit

At all times of a ODI match, no more than 5 fielders can be set on leg side. On any form of cricket, no more than 2 fielders can be set behind square on the legside (between square leg & long stop-behind the 'keeper)  to tackle the controversial 'bodyline' tactics.
