After putting my windows xp into Stand By mode I can't resume it only show command blink on the top.HELP?

Even I pushed power button, and want to resume instead restart, it goes back to black screen with blink on the left top.

  1. Hold the power button down for about 6 seconds until it shuts down and then Turn it back on


  2. My advise is, Switch off your computer or leave it on,

    Do not use Stand By mode.

    I was given that same advise many years ago. I never asked whe, but followed his advise.
