After receiving a speeding ticket, how long do you have to take the driving course?

what I mean is my boyfriend received a speeding ticket in april, I believe, and he has paid some for the ticket, but still needs to take a course? can someone explain this to me?

Hey... I got a speeding ticket in may. After I paid my ticket, the court gave me until august to take defensive driving. If you look at the papers your boyfriend received after paying for his ticket, there should be a date. Good luck, and he can take an online defensive driving class... sooo convenient!
