Hi

Have started running again, (loving it) but only do about 30 to 45min at the moment. My problem being that in the morning, I wake and feel as though I have a cold coming on but as the day goes on, I feel better... although the quality of run may not be as good. I run every evening around 8pm. Any ideas?

  1. you need a propper diet, drink plenty of fluids.

  2. Feeling like a cold might be coming on is usually a sign that your body's recovery resources are still diverted to recuperating from the run. It's a common symptom of overtraining, for example.

I'd first make sure you're doing what you can to help your body recover from each run and prep for the next, which usually means consuming carbs and protein immediately after the run. If you're not eating/drinking like that afterward, you're likely going to bed without giving your body what it needs to rebuild while you sleep, and it makes a big difference to catch the window of opportunity that occurs immediately after you finish training.

Chocolate milk, peanut butter, a tuna sandwich, etc., are all common recovery options, and there are other formal sports bars and recovery drinks out there that can help too. You might also want to work in things like a periodic multivitamin, as you're putting your body through more than usual, and may not be getting everything you need in your natural diet every day.

Anyway, I'd look into what you can generally do to aid your recovery. The source links below should be good article sources.

  3. I think you're feeling that way because you just started running again and your body is trying to get use to it.

  4. hi.

you may feel this because you do it in the evenings. your body is already tired. Any stress, headache or slight fatigue may contribute to this feeling.

you said you have not been running for some time & started doing it again. & you running for over 30-45 minutes - thats way too much.

no Olympic runners run for so long in the evenings. all the trainings end before 8 pm, because humans body is exhausted. try running for no more that 20 minutes, but do it more frequently. like from Monday t Friday. Run with comfortable passe. not too fast. breath well while running.

eat well, sleep well, take supplement if necessary.

it all contributes t the feeling you get.

evenings are colder than afternoons, & your body's immune system seems to be weak...thus more prone to falling sick under a load/stress.

  5. nothing much hust that ur getting tired or show to doctor!!

  6. Maybe someone had a cold or somthing ans passed it on to you

  7. i get that somtimes. u might just be tired. it helps me when i get more sleep or eat more(healthy food) and drink lots of water,

  8. Are you keeping well hydrated? Running without being hydrated can make you feel very sick. I would see a doctor.
